Jacob Jarek

BiographyJacob was born in Poland and grew up in Norway. He graduated from the producing program at The National Film School of Denmark in 2011. In 2011, Jacob Jarek established the Copenhagen-based production company Profile Pictures along with producers Ditte Milsted and Thor Sigurjonsson. Profile Pictures quickly reached a position as a successful and ambitious company, specializing in genre films and series with an artistic edge. Among their films are several of Ali Abassi's films, including "Shelley," (2016), selected for the Berlinale Panorama, and "Holy Spider" (2022) and "The Apprentice" (2024) , both selected for the main competition at Cannes. Jacob was also the producer of "Speak no evil" (2022) by director Christian Tafdrup, which premiered at Sundance and which is remade by Blumhouse and will be released by Universal in 2024. In terms of TV-series Jacob most recently produced season 3 of the acclaimed TV-series "Follow the Money" (2019) and is an executive producer on the series "Sex" (2020) and HBO Max's "Kamikaze" (2021). Jacob Jarek received the Danish Directors' Ib Award in 2017. He is a member of The European Film Academy.
